Money! It is an aim for some persons.

Others? It’s fitting for their passion to be realised in a stable!

Монах-францисканец

оставил обитель,

спасенье разносит:

“Купите, купите!”

И гвардии конной

наемный швейцарец

спеша покупает

священнейший палец.

О, мощи святые,

о символы веры

На башнях собора

прогнулись химеры.

И слышно, как дышат

в разводьях тумана

и хлещут хвостами

гранит Нотр-Дама.

A monk from a temple

Left gloomy headquarters,

He is selling indulgence

For bread and for order.

A reiter from Zurich,

The inventor of a “stinger”,

Keeps smiling and buying

The holliest finger.

The relics of saint’s bodies

The signs of believing,

The tours of the heaven,

What message receiving?

Chimeras – the symbol,

But Temple is a ground,

Of the trustworthy lady’s

Ever flourishing pride.
