Subject: Exams
…After taking my school exams, I want to study English literature at university. Some people say that it is boring and it takes too much time, but I really like it.
…How many exams are you going to take this year? How do you prepare for your English exam? Do you like to take exams, why or why not?…

Dear Ann,
Thank you for your email! It’s great to hear about your plans to study English literature. I think that’s so interesting!
In your letter you asked me about my school exams. Well, this year I am going to take four exams – Maths, Russian, Physics, and English. Preparing for the English exam is a bit challenging but fun. I practise reading comprehension and writing letters. Also, I try to speak more with friends in English to boost my confidence. Taking exams can be stressful, I don’t like it. However, exams help me see how much I’ve learned. Still, I prefer projects or presentations because they’re less nerve-wracking.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Best wishes,
Max (116 слов)

Subject: The life of modern teenagers
…I am doing a project about the life of modern teenagers in different countries. I’d like to know about Russian teenagers.
…What time do you usually come back from school? What do you like to do in your free time? How many foreign languages would you like to speak, and why?…

Dear Ann,
Thanks for your message. Great to hear from you!
In your email you’ve asked me about the life of modern Russian teenagers. Well, I usually come back from school at around 3 PM, though sometimes it’s later if I stay for extra classes or club activities. In my free time I enjoy playing video games, watching movies, and meeting friends – it’s a great way to relax after a busy day. As for foreign languages, I’d like to speak two more besides English, such as German and Spanish, because knowing different languages helps me understand other cultures and opens up more opportunities for travel and work.
