Как показывает история отношений между Англией и Россией, столкновение культур сначала вызывает явный шок и агрессивное неприятие в форме смеха или осуждения, обычно из чистого страха перед новизной, затем оно уступает место взаимному интересу и пониманию и, наконец, приводит к заимствованию и слиянию. Точно так же, как столкновение двух основных цветов (независимо от их интенсивности) неизбежно приводит к появлению производного цвета, наше общее культурное наследие составляет радужную палитру мира!

In decreasing winter days, we hear the call of the kalen boom (hardened arrow), we feel: the topic wants to manifest through us, and we delve into the legendary past. In the far corner of the known world, the lights are fading. It is the end of the 5th century and the beginning of the dark ages. The Barbarians are flooding Britain. Five centuries later Kievan Rus also suffers from frequent severe raids of the wild steppe people. No matter where or when, if civilization is on the verge of collapse, people need a hero to protect the land and, according to plenty of stories, they get one!

King Arthur is a dashing king, feared by his enemies. He rides in the battle like a superman, supported by a powerful sorcerer – Merlin. He rules the country from Camelot, where he gathers together the best knights of Britain and Europe. In Arthurian stories, there are different numbers of knights, ranging from 12 to more than 150 (the Winchester Round Table shows 25 places). Together they protect the country from evil powers, drive out the invaders and leave for the quest of the Holy Grail. The Blessed Kingdom is saved! In the end, Arthur sails to the heavenly island of Avalon.

Being as a mighty ruler as Arthur was, Prince Vladimir managed to consolidate the provinces into a single state and defend the borders. Folk singers singled out Prince Vladimir (whose character is presented as a generalized “epic Vladimir”) and a number of warriors associated in one way or another with early Kiev as heroes in byliny, a traditional form of Old Russian heroic narrative
